About

Hi, I'm Erin, and I'm gluten intolerant.

I live in the suburbs of Seattle. Not the nicest or the trendiest one. The nearest Whole Foods is 16 miles away, and the nearest Trader Joe's is 12 miles away. And like many families, we're on a budget, so paying $4.99 for a box of rice pasta macaroni and cheese, or eating at the hippest new downtown raw food/vegan/gluten free bistro isn't going to happen on a regular basis (if at all!). More often than not, I do our weekly grocery shop at our local Safeway, and our meals both at home and out aren't that fancy.

Gluten Free in Suburbia is my place to share how we balance mealtime (between gluten free me, a toddler, and a husband with the palatte of a seven year old), dining out, and finding gluten free friendly places and products in the suburbs, without dropping your entire paycheck at a specialty foods store or restaurant.

I have not recieved any compensation from locations or products mentioned by Gluten Free in Suburbia. All opinions here are my own!
